You have time to relax or discover the area near the hotel. Day 2 you go on City Tour through Bangkok; Chinatown, the Flower Market, see the Skyscrapers and travel the Chao Praya river and connecting ‘klongs’ (canals). You will have some time to explore more of Bangkok in the evening.
In the morning you transfer to Khao Yai National Park, the biggest park in Thailand. This park has it all, wildlife with tigers and elephants, waterfalls and fantastic jungle scenery. You go on a short trek, watch animals, go for a swim at the waterfalls, and watch the sunset over the park at Khao Kiaw viewpoint, the highest point in the park (1188 m). For the movie lovers, parts of the movie “The Beach” with Leonardo di Caprio have been filmed here. Last but not least, you visit the Bat Cave to see more than 1 million bats flying out to hunt insects during the night. Khao Yai is a big adventure. Optionally, we can take you on a night safari to search for tigers, elephants and other game with large floodlights, however, we have to request permission from the park rangers for this.
The tour takes us through the heart of Thailand, a very interesting area. Here we visit we Lopburi with its famous temples inhabited by monkeys. And then we continue to Ayutthaya. We spend the afternoon exploring this old capital which in the 17th century was seen as one of the most beautiful cities in all of Asia. The ruins in the historical park testify to a special and glorious past with over 1700 temples and more than 4000 Buddha images.
The express aircon train leaves at 9.30 am and you arrive in Phitsanulok early in the afternoon. In the afternoon you can visit the famous Wat Yai with one of the most revered Buddha statues in Thailand. Don’t forget to visit the cozy evening market near the river, you can go there with a samlor (bicycle taxi).
The next day our driver will pick you up at the hotel and bring you to the old capital of Thailand, Sukhothai. The best way to visit this beautiful historic park with its impressive temples and lotus ponds is by bike. The ruins are one of Thailand’s most elaborate historic parks and include 21 historical sites and four large ponds within the old walls, and an additional 70 sites within a 5 km radius. At the end of the day, you will transfer to Chiang Mai, a ride through a beautiful mountain landscape.
First, a day off to explore this lovely city at your leisure; check out the temples, make a nice bike tour through the center or do a Thai cooking course. Day 9 we drive to Doi Inthanon National Park and go all the way to the top of the mountain (2565 meters) where there is a radar station (no photos!) and take a walk through a moss forest, special because of the altitude. 5 kilometers below the top we stop at 2 beautiful pagodas, built on the occasion of the 60th birthday of the king and queen respectively. In the afternoon, a visit to a Karen hill tribe village and a waterfall.
Day 10 a bicycle ride in the countryside, just outside of Chiang Mai city. You will go on a relaxing ride and will visit local villages with houses on stilts and rice fields along lazy back roads and a village school. There is a stop at a lake with beautiful mountains surrounding it. The best way to experience this part of Northern Thailand.
Day 11 more time to explore Chiang Mai, visit Doi Suthep, situated on top of a hill and from here you have a fantastic view of the surrounding valley of Chiang Mai, or make a tour to the local markets and try the famous street food.
