After arrival in Bangkok, our guide will meet you and take you to your hotel. You have time to relax or discover the area near the hotel. You can explore the city; Chinatown, the Flower Market, see the Skyscrapers or take a tuk-tuk ride, visit the palace, or some of the big shopping centers. You can also just relax at the pool.
Pick up in the morning and transfer to the first temple, Wat Traimit, Temple of the Golden Buddha. This buddha is 4 meters in height, of 18-carat gold, weighing five-and-half tons. Next, we visit Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha). This buddha measures 46 meters and its feet are inlaid with mother-of-pearl. The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) are next on the list, the Emerald Buddha being of the highest importance for the country. Last, Wat Benchamabopit or Marble Temple, one of the modern works of Thai religious architecture. By now you must be ready for lunch.
In the afternoon you discover why Bangkok is also known as “the Venice of the East”. During this tour, you have the chance to see Bangkok from a totally different point of view and get a better idea of the Thai people living on the banks of the canals. Depending on the route chosen by your guide, you will visit one of the many local temples, a small market or a school.
From the hotel, a minivan will take you first to Damnoen Saduak, one of the last remaining ‘floating markets’ near Bangkok. Instead of strolling along the stalls to check out the product, a market where everything is done with boats. Local farmers row their boats with all sorts of merchandise around and they even prepare noodles in the boats on the spot.
After lunch, a bike ride that starts at the heart of Chinatown, to show you the ‘real’ Bangkok. Chinatown’s narrow alleyways, markets, and backstreets as well as the charming local areas of Thonburi. Chaos, sounds, smells and then the tranquility, the ‘real’ Bangkok has it all. From here you return to the hotel.
After breakfast, your tour ends here. You can stay longer in Bangkok or we can book an onward flight or you can extend your holiday differently, all up to you.
